Citta Recovery

Clinician-led, by design

Citta was built by clinicians who kept meeting the same problem — people arriving for trauma recovery years after the workplace pressure that started it.

Citta Companion is not an emergency or crisis service. It provides AI-assisted wellbeing discovery and support navigation, with human review pathways where appropriate.

Founder, Citta EAP and Wellness Private Limited

The founder

Citta was created from a simple observation: many people reach therapy only after years of stress, workplace pressure, burnout, bullying, grief, relational trauma or emotional overload have already affected their health, work and identity.

Dilipchandra Balachandran is the Founder of Citta EAP and Wellness Private Limited. He brings a cross-disciplinary background across mental health, workplace systems, organisational resilience and trauma-informed recovery.

His early professional background includes mental health nursing and clinical exposure in India, including work connected with institutional mental health environments. He later built an international career across Australia and India, working at the intersection of people, systems, risk, governance and organisational resilience.

Traditional EAP models often wait for employees to call a helpline. Most employees never do. Dilip founded Citta to build a more preventive, confidential and structured model of workplace mental health support — one that helps organisations understand wellbeing risk early while protecting employee privacy.

Citta’s model combines AI-assisted discovery, clinician-led support, de-identified organisational intelligence, group interventions, manager support and structured recovery pathways.

His current focus is building Citta India as a future-ready employee wellbeing and trauma- informed recovery system for Indian workplaces.

Clinical governance

Citta is not an open therapist marketplace.

Practitioners join a verified network — trained through Citta Academy, tiered by qualification and experience, supervised, and audited against a documented standard. Practitioners work strictly within their tier.

Tier one

Junior clinicians

Handle structured intake and early support.

Tier two

Specialists

Handle complex presentations.

Tier three

Senior clinicians and supervisors

Handle risk decisions and complex review.

Tier three

Psychiatrists or RCI clinical psychologists

Psychiatric complexity is referred on.

Cases that exceed a practitioner’s scope are escalated, not absorbed.

Why India, why now

Indian workplaces are absorbing a generation that talks openly about burnout, boundaries and psychological safety — and largely meeting them with an EAP helpline nobody calls.

Citta exists to close that gap with something preventive, confidential and clinically governed.

Where higher risk or complex concerns arise, Citta may recommend human review, specialist referral, emergency services or other appropriate support pathways.
